Default Best Hilt and Pommel

Hello guys! I need help in moding my sword.

In your opinion what do you think would be the best hilt and pommel modifications when you go into PvE and PvP environments?

Thanks in advance!

PvP: Vampiric of Fortitude, with a Zelous of Fortitude on switch.

PvE: I don't really think it makes a difference.

I'm with JR insofar as it doesn't make a difference what hilt/pommel you have globally. I think it's more important that oyu have one for the occasion. For example, for killing imps or ettins, a fiery would be best, whereas hot things would be better with an icy mod.

PvP: Shock hilt with +5 armor(Vs. All)

Shocking hilts do nothing special, unless you're running something whacky like thunderclap or iron mist. Vamp or Zealous, like JR said, are better. And I've been seeing a fair few heavy degen builds, where a fortitude would fare better than a defence. Up to your discretion, I guess.

PVE: furious blah of defense + 5
PVP: furious/vamp/zealous blah of fortitude + 30

in pve most of the enemies you will run into will not be degen so more defense is key, and furious is for your attack skills and bonneti which you will most likely be using in heavy melee areas to get back your nrg
in pvp, lots of degen so more life is key and if your running a build with alot of IAS then vamp or zealous is best, or more spiking skills then furious is best

I would much rather use a defense mod (+5 armor) over a fortitude mod (+30 health). How often is 30 health going to save you in a fight? Besides, the 30 bonus health is not helping you unless your health gets below 30, whereas a defense mod is constantly reducing damage, which can add up to hundreds of damage prevented over a battle.

The only place where fortitude becomes stronger than a defense pommel is against degeneration. However, with a minor degeneration such as -5, a fortitude mod only grants you 3 more seconds of life, and against a dangerous dengeneration of -10, you are only gaining 1.5 seconds.

For PvE, I have 2 Hammers. I have a Heavy/Furious/Fluffy Hammer of Defence, and an elemental (Ebon or Shocking for preference) Hammer of Defence to switch to when fighting physical-resistant enemies, or when Mursaat use Physical Resistance. The same thing would work for swords I'd wager.

^^^In truth, I just switched my 'main' hammer for Malinon's Skull Crusher, and my elemental is now a hammer of Pruning, 'cuz it's funny.

So, yeah, an Elemental switch weapon rocks.
